Carboline Rustbond®

Manufacturer: Carboline
Product Description

Rustbond® and Rustbond® FC can accept a variety of topcoats. Rustbond is a cross-linked penetrating primer/sealer with excellent wetting properties and is highly flexible with good chemical solvent resistance.

When used as a primer/sealer, recommended use would be for marginally prepared steel and over old coatings. Rustbond's excellent wetting properties penetrates rust, allows for discontinuities in existing coatings, and provide a firm anchorage for a variety of topcoats.

Their thixotropic character reduces run off, ensuring that the edges of existing coatings are encapsulted thus reducing undercutting and peeling. They may also be used as a tie-coat for coatings that exceed their "recoat window".
