 When
properly installed and cured, 3M Fire Block FB 136 forms
a solid, permanent, non-combustible,
non-sag barrier that helps prevent the spread of drafts,
fire, smoke and noxious gases.
In
all building codes, the designs and location for fire
blocking are required to be indicated on the construction
documents,
and are subject to inspection before occupancy in new
construction. In areas around pipes, vents, ducts and
other penetrants, the integrity of fire blocks is often
compromised. FB 136 offers an ideal method for sealing
these areas to fire blocking code and as a result, mitigates
the potential risks they may represent.
